What is Neem

One platform for medical care in Ghana.

Neem is a Ghanaian telemedicine platform that brings healthcare professionals together in one place: licensed Ghanaian doctors, verified by hand before they see a single patient.

There are two ways in. Book for yourself from your phone, at a time you choose or as soon as someone is free. Or walk into a participating pharmacy and start a consultation at the counter, with the pharmacist ready to dispense whatever the doctor prescribes.

Either way the consultation happens by video or audio on your own phone, and anything written for you stays yours to come back to: a prescription, a referral, a summary, an eating or training plan.

What you can book

Medical advice from a licensed Ghanaian doctor.

One price, paid before the consultation, with nothing added afterwards — and free during the pilot if you start one at a participating pharmacy. Every doctor on Neem is licensed in Ghana, and their credentials are checked by hand before they see a single patient.

GH₵50

General consultation

A licensed Ghanaian doctor, by video or audio. Advice on what is troubling you, a prescription where one is appropriate, or a referral for further care.

  • Same-day, or book a time
  • Prescriptions for eligible conditions
  • Referral letters

Prescriptions and referrals are written by doctors, for conditions where one is appropriate. A consultation is not a guarantee of either.

How Neem works

Two ways in. The same care either way.

Book online

From your phone, wherever you are

  1. 1. Choose what you need

A general consultation with a licensed Ghanaian doctor, by video or audio.

  2. 2. Now, or at a time you pick

See whoever is free, or choose a slot later in the week from the hours a professional has published.

  3. 3. Pay once, up front

Mobile Money or card, through Paystack. One price, with nothing added afterwards.

  4. 4. Speak to your professional

By video or audio on your own phone. Whatever they write for you is kept under My care, to come back to.

At a pharmacy

At the counter, with a pharmacist beside you

  1. 1. Visit a participating pharmacy

The pharmacist starts a Neem consultation for you and takes payment at the counter.

  2. 2. Scan the code

The consultation opens on your own phone, so what you tell the doctor stays between you and them.

  3. 3. See a doctor there and then

A licensed doctor joins by video or audio, usually within minutes, and can take the readings the pharmacy measured into account.

  4. 4. Collect your medication

Any prescription goes straight to that pharmacy, so you walk out with it rather than making a second trip.

What people come to Neem for

The reasons people book, and what they get.

Medical advice

Something is wrong and you want a doctor to look at it before it gets worse, or to tell you it is nothing.

A prescription

A doctor can prescribe for conditions that can be assessed safely at a distance, and say plainly when yours cannot.

A repeat you cannot get to

A doctor can review a condition you are already managing and write what you need, without the journey.

A second opinion

You have been told something and want another qualified view before you act on it.

Not for emergencies. If someone is struggling to breathe, bleeding heavily, unconscious, having chest pain or in danger, go to the nearest emergency department or call for help. Neem is for care that can wait for a consultation, not for care that cannot.

Why Neem

Care you can check, at a price you were told.

Licensed, and checked

Doctors are registered with the Medical and Dental Council. Neem verifies every credential by hand before a doctor sees a patient.

One price, paid up front

You see the price before you book and pay it once, by Mobile Money or card. Nothing is added afterwards, and no card details are stored by Neem.

Private by design

What you tell a professional is sealed when the consultation ends. It cannot be read afterwards by them, by a pharmacy, or by Neem staff.

Documents you keep

Prescriptions, referrals and summaries are signed, carry a code anyone can check, and stay in your account for you to come back to.

A doctor can prescribe for conditions that can be assessed safely without a physical examination, and will tell you plainly when yours cannot. Book through a pharmacy and the prescription goes straight to that pharmacy; book online and it is yours, to take to any pharmacy.

You are not charged. If nobody is free for an immediate consultation, Neem says so rather than taking your money, and you can choose a time later in the week instead.

Yes. What you tell a professional is sealed when the consultation ends and cannot be read afterwards: not by them, not by a pharmacy, not by Neem staff. Records are retained as the law requires and then destroyed. Prescriptions and referrals stay in your own account.
